Interpol Firearm Forensics Symposium – IFFS2017 / IFFS2020 results

Crime Gun Intelligence: About IFFS 2017 and IFFS 2020

We are honored to partner with INTERPOL on the fourth edition of IFFS, which brings together the world’s foremost law enforcement officials, public safety administrators, policymakers, and forensic science experts. IFFS 2017 will provide attendees with an inspiring symposium experience by addressing the most pressing challenges facing intelligence and policing communities today.

The symposium’s three-day comprehensive program will cover a broad spectrum of topics related to preventing, investigating, and solving firearm-related crime. We will learn about firearm recovery protocols and best practices for providing investigators with timely leads; we will elaborate on how to create a multi-disciplinary unit to collect and share intelligence effectively; we will discuss how legislation can better assist investigators in solving firearm crime; we will explore the link between organized crime and terrorism; and finally, we will hear many success stories from around the world that exemplify the best practices deliberated each day.

Interpol lawyer to challenge Interpol Red Notice and Diffusion

Interpol is the world’s largest international police organization, with 190 member countries. Interpol red notice system is one of its most important tools, Interpol Diffusion, for tracking and capturing wanted criminals. Interpol Lawyers help to ensure that the red notice system is used effectively and efficiently. Interpol Lawyers work within the legal team to provide advice on the law enforcement aspects of Interpol’s work. They also work closely with member countries to facilitate the extradition of wanted criminals. In addition, Interpol Lawyers liaise with international organizations, such as the United Nations, to ensure that Interpol’s work is in line with international law. The Interpol Lawyer, therefore, plays a vital role in Interpol’s efforts to bring wanted criminals to justice.

A Dynamic, Hands-On Approach

IFFS 2017 is the only symposium that brings together the best minds in law enforcement and public safety for three days of in-depth presentations and discussions on the rapidly changing matters of firearm trafficking, intelligence gathering, and international policing.

This year, a new hands-on format will ensure that attendees are actively engaged while learning effective methods for prioritizing evidence and generating investigator leads. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn how intelligence communities in jurisdictions around the world are handling complex firearm challenges.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your inspiring contribution and participation at IFFS 2017 held in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The Symposium was a tremendous success, an achievement only possible thanks to you all.

IFFS 2017 fulfilled its objective of addressing the most pressing challenges facing law enforcement today in their quest to reduce and resolve the firearm-related crime. Your contribution and your participation gave law enforcement, prosecutors, and policymakers fundamental and vital information that will improve their capabilities in investigating, preventing, and solving firearm-related crime.

Interpol Firearm Forensics Symposium – IFFS2020

Due to the evolution of the pandemic situation, we haven’t been able to reschedule the in-person 2020 INTERPOL Firearm Forensics Symposium (IFFS).

Instead, we are organizing a virtual IFFS event to take place from May 4 to 6, 2021.

This virtual event will be presented in the 4 official languages of INTERPOL: English, French, Spanish, and Arabic.

We will provide an agenda and registration details in January.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to connecting with you in May.
